In my opinion, I think that Hatchet is an excellent book. The story follows Brian, a 13-year-old boy who is going on a trip to the Canadian woods after his parent’s recent divorce, but things don’t go quite as planned and he is forced to survive on his own until someone can come and rescue him. He faces many trials and makes some mistakes, but he learns from them and improves which is good to remember in the real world. There are also plenty of descriptive scenes which make the reader feel like they’re in the story. I would definitely recommend this book, mostly to people around 10 years of age and up since that’s what the book seems to be aimed towards. All in all, I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, because I mostly enjoyed it, but there are some parts that lost my interest a bit. However, that's just me, and you should try reading the book for yourself! I’m positive that you’ll love it too!
