A lot of the time people don't think about how it would feel to have someone in your family with autism. In the book Rules by Cynthia Lord the main character is Catherine, a twelve year old girl who desperately wants a normal life, but it seems impossible when you have a brother with autism. Catherine tries many things to help her brother David, like making rules for him to follow. Another conflict in this book along with have an autistic brother is Catherine tries her best to make friends like Kristi, her new next door neighbor but to Catherine's surprise she makes a friend named Jason, a boy that she never expected to be friends with. Catherine is the protagonist in this book and David and Catherine's parents are the antagonists. David can't help that he has autism but Catherine wants a normal life so bad it makes it hard on her. Her parents don't seem to understand how hard it is for her and seem to give all of their attention to David. The turning point in this book is when Catherine tries to learn how to accept her brother for who he is… But will she ever fully learn how to accept him? The setting in Rules is in Maine during the summer around Catherine's house, her friends house and her neighborhood. I really recommend you read this book! It gives you great perspective on Catherine's life and can be very relatable for someone in middle school.About 9 years agodufros added a book review.

I would love to win this book because I love to read but I find it really hard for me to find a book that I really enjoy to read but this book seems like a really good book that I would love to read. I have also read another book called three times lucky by this author and I loved the style of it! That is why I want this book!About 9 years agodufros added a book review.
The book Paper Towns is book about adventure and mystery that includes twists and turns along the way that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Paper Towns is written by John Green and takes place in Orlando, Florida. The book is about a boy and a girl that are neighbors named Quentin and Margo and they are near the end of their senior year of high school. Margo has always loved going on adventures and solving mysteries, but Quentin not so much. Until, one night Margo takes him on an adventure. The next day Margo all of a sudden runs away and nobody knows where she is. Quentin decides to take the matters into his own hands and decides it's his job to find Margo. Using only the few clues Margo had left behind will Quentin be able to find Margo? The protagonist in this book is Quentin because he wants to find and save Margo and the antagonist is Margo, not because she is bad or mean, but because her actions of running away causes a conflict affecting Quentin. To anyone who loves amazing adventures and solving mysteries then this book is for you and I highly recommend it!About 9 years agodufros has read this book.
