Brian Robeson is about to encounter something unexpected from the abyss of bad luck. This may even be life changing for him, especially at his age of 13. As he is traveling from the United States over to Canada to see his Father after his parents divorce that unexpected thing was rearing its ugly face, towards him. Suddenly, he is stuck in the middle of nowhere with only a tattered jacket, his outfit, and a hatchet that his Mother gave to him. After all this pressure from everything he had experienced before, and the secret that has been nagging at him for years, he had to build himself up and learn, the new Brian. Overall this book deserves a 4, why not a 5? Well one chapter was really disgusting, and sometimes things can get freaky and out of hand. But what is good about the book is that it has a very unexpected series of events and you would want to keep this book gripped to your hands to see what happens next, there is really never a dull moment in this book, and the other books by the same author are just as great! I would recommend this book to anyone who is in 5th grade or up, and someone who doesn't really care about gore being in one chapter if that's okay. And my favorite part is at the very end which is also the biggest spoiler but since I don't want to spoil anything you are going to have to figure that out. Happy reading!
