You're wrong. Alex Rider's father is John Rider (mentioned in another book) but his father died in a so called plane crash which was actually a bomb in the plane because Scorpia, a criminal organisation planned to kill this MI6 agent because he pretended that he was part of Scorpia so they went for revenge. As a result of the plane crash his uncle, Ian Rider took care of him until he died.

I just love this book and want to recommend it to all of you out there. It's about a 14 year old orphan whose uncle died. He discovers his uncle died working on a top secret spy mission and sets off to complete it.
